Presley has been sick with a URI for the past week. During this time, he was not able to keep down his dry food. I have been spoon-feeding him small amounts of baby food and wet food all week to keep him nourished...He LOVES the baby food! He's on the tail end of his sickness, but I can't get him to eat his dry food anymore. Could it be that I have spoiled him and he is just working me? If I leave him no other choice will he eventually eat the dry food, or will he wither away?? I love you guys! Thanks for your help!

Cats can get very sick very quickly from not eating, so I would definitely not just hope he will eventually eat it. He may associate the current food with getting sick now. Any time my silly cat gets even an upset stomach, he has a tendency to associate it with whatever he was eating at the time. I would try a different dry food, probably with a different meat source to make sure it smells differently to him.

Canned food can actually help keep his system healthy, so it wouldn't be a bad idea at all to keep offering a little of that every day, as well.

try mixing a bit of the baby food into some wet... that way, the taste is there, but it's mostly his regular wet food [assuming he eats wet, of course!] i know my adult wet eaters have just loved snacking on Firefox's food, which has some meat baby food mixed into it.

Is he eating canned, just not dry?

Canned is actually better for cats than dry, so maybe just switch to all canned? I wish I could get my picky eater to eat more canned so I could get rid of the dry.
