Why do people think it's OK to make rude comments about cats?

i know! she's said many mean things, both about & to me personally, treats any special ed kids in her class like 2nd class citizens, etc. like i said - not one of my favorite people [HUGE understatement there!] she hadn't even seen the kitten in question, either!

People can get downright annoying about my cat, being a Sphynx.

First of all, Levi your gorgeous sweetie!!

Secondly, when God gave humans tact and brains they missed this co worker of yours out!

And finally, if anyone said any wise crack about my girls they'd know about it!. They can say anything they want about me (but they better pray it never gets back to me!), but don't say anything about my babies when they've done nothing to them

Argh!! I really don't get it either...and yes that picture is adorable

I have heard so many times "why would you pay that much at the vet? I would have just killed her for ya?"

I have heard countless comments about "killing cats" instead of paying money to get them better at the vet..

Would you kill your kid if they had a disease or illness!?!?

It is neverending..and I don't get how people can have such disregard for cats

I've been given my fair share of mean comments about MY cats, too.

People who think I'm crazy for taking so many in, people who think I'm crazy for paying so much to save their lives, people who think it's "gross" to keep them inside the house, people who think I'm plum-nuts for not minding cat hair on my furniture, etc., the list goes on.

I usually just tell them to shut their pie-holes and point out stuff I don't like about THEM, stuff THEY do wrong in life, in my opinion. I totally stand up for my cats and if someone doesn't like cats, well then they certainly don't like me!

I think your co-worker doesn't know what he's talking about. He's very cute. But them I'm partial to grey cats.

I've had very similar things said about the boys. My neighbor has gone as far as telling me that Dr. Claw is ugly.

All in all I don't really let it bother me anymore. The boys are the boys and they aren't going anywhere. Their pictures are going to stay on my desk and I'm going to love them more every day.

I've been called a Cat Lady, a Cat Weirdo. I've been told I'm nuts for all the money I'm spending on Jordan. I don't care about that, my life is my life and no one can tell me he's not worth it. I was just shocked that someone would actually say he was ugly. I've had people tell me how cute or how handsome he is, I just never thought anyone would say he was ugly. I just can't imagine anyone saying he's ugly.

I almost pity him.

I love how quickly members responded to this thread.
I suspect that most of us have experienced negative comments about our love and respect for cats.
I know that I have.

I've had people say that Kaylee is Ugly, and my answer was, She is alot prettier than you are! Id rather look at a dogs butt than your face.

First, all cats are beautiful.

Second, that was extremely rude of that person to say that and I would have said something to them about it!
