I posted a little while ago about Zorro's thumb being infected. They said that if the antibiotics didn't work, then he would need to have the thumb removed.
Anyways, the first course didn't work, and he is halfway through the second course now. The medication really helped the inflammation and is somewhat helping the infection, but today when I went to clean it, I noticed something very red that was sticking out of the socket. It looks like muscle or something. It really hurt him when I was cleaning it, so obviously the meds arn't working like we had hoped they would. I'm going to have to call the vet tommorow and let then know that he needs the surgery. Hopefully it won't cost too much since we are hard up for money right now seeing as how we've already spent a small fortune on him in the last few months.
I'm really nervous about putting him under again, but I don't think I have much choice. I'm hoping the surgery won't cost more than $150. All they have to do is take out a nail right?? It can't be too extensive.
I'm feeling a little bummed out now. I just don't know how I'm going to pay for all these vet bills much longer.

I have tried, but seeing as I don't have any credit, I was denied. We had to take money off the hubby's loan for last vet's visit.
I plan on calling the vet when they open today and see how much it costs. I really hope its not too expensive.

I called the vet, and they said that they would get back to me tommorow morning and let me know what the vet wants to do. So now all I do is play the waiting game.
