Is it because I'm not putting enough litter on her tray?
I decided to quit using a liner altogether in my litter tray. I have two cats that share the litter box with no problems and I completely change the litter with fresh litter and wash out their box with soap and water once a week. My two cats continually ripped up the liner so I just stopped using it and I am happy with the result. Of course that is just one person's experience. Why is a liner needed anyway? I keep the box ultra clean so I just pour the new sand in their box, scoop it out twice a day, and then completely change the litter once a week with a fresh new box, totally cleaned. And as I have stated in the past, my cats do not have anything to rip up any more and I know that they are given the best sanitary facilities that I can give them. They are happy. And I am more than happy.
I do put about six inches of litter in the box. In the case of Alley, she is happy digging to the bottom. Persi, being the humble man, dumps on top.
