Movin' on up!
My car is only three years old and I've never had a bit of trouble with it - until today. A routine trip to Walgreen's turned out to be more expensive, than I planned. When I left the store, my car wouldn't start - no clicking, no grinding, just nothing.

Fortunately, I had my cell with me and my AAA card is always in my wallet. They sent a guy out and, sure enough, the Arizona heat has claimed another battery. $123.00 later, I am back in my air-conditioned house, thanking my lucky stars that I decided to renew my AAA membership last month. Of course, I would have been happier, if had been something covered by the warranty.

I'm glad they were able to help you out.

I know they have saved me a few times, including a few times that I have locked myself out of the car.

It's CAA here and I wouldn't be without it. Glad you got sorted out without too much fuss, Cindy, even if it did cost some $$$.

oooo stinky! Glad they got there and helped you out! I typically call for my step-Dad when things have happened with my car, but if he weren't available I'd be stuck or my car would be! When Mom was single I know we had a AAA membership.

I have their AAAPlus and that extra towing mileage came in handy several years ago. They are my lifesaver when I have a flat tire.

Thankfully I have never had a dead battery...*knocks on wood*

I was happy for my roadside package the other day when I locked my keys in my car though

An AAA membership is really worthwhile! They even make house calls. One time I was visiting my mother, and went to use the car, only to find the battery was dead. A neighbor tried to jump it for me, to no avail. AAA came right out, checked out the car, and put in a new battery, and only charged for the battery itself. (And BTW, the mechanic was female
)

We've belonged to ADAC, the German version, ever since our alternator died in a blizzard on the autobahn, at night, with a dog in the car. That was about 23 or 24 years ago. The guy who came told us we could sign up, and have the repair done for free, which we did, and we've never regretted it. That man even asked if we wanted blankets, as we had our car blanket wrapped around the dog, or hot coffee or tea. He gave Fritz, our dog, a ham sandwich, which went over really well!

Our German health insurance only covers us in EU countries. The German automobile club gives both of us full coverage, meaning doctors' visits, medication, and hospitalization, during stays of up to 6 weeks in the U.S. for about $40 a year. That's very important for me, because I spend about one month a year there.
