Hi, My cat has been on Nutro natural choice for awhile. I noticed in Petco a food called Blue Spa Select. I wanted to see if anyone here uses it and what you think of it. I was thinking of trying the hairball formula:

Deboned Chicken, Chicken Meal, Fish Meal, Oatmeal, Whole Ground Brown Rice, Whole Ground Barley, Dried Cellulose, Whole Potatoes, Chicken Fat (preserved with Natural Mixed Tocopherols), Natural Chicken Flavor, Dried Chicory Root, Whole Sweet Potatoes, Whole Carrots, Cranberries, Blueberries, Flaxseed, Barley Grass, Dried Parsley, Alfalfa Meal, Kelp Meal, Taurine, L-Lysine, Yucca Schidigera Extract, Green Tea Extract, Turmeric, Salmon Oil (natural source of Omega 3 Fatty Acids), Black Malted Barley, Oil of Rosemary, Vitamin A Supplement, Vitamin C, Vitamin E Supplement, Vitamin D3 Supplement, Beta-Carotene, Calcium Ascorbate (source of Vitamin C), Vitamin B12 Supplement, Niacin, Riboflavin, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride (Vitamin B6), Thiamine Hydrochloride (Vitamin B1), Folic Acid, Biotin, Chlorine Chloride, Calcium Chloride, Zinc Amino Acid Complex (source of Chelated Zinc), Iron Amino Acid Complex (source of Chelated Iron), Copper Amino Acid Complex (source of Chelated Copper), Manganese Amino Acid Complex (source of Chelated Manganese), Potassium Amino Acid Complex (source of Chelated Potassium), Cobalt Proteinate (source of Chelated Cobalt), Potassium Chloride, Sodium Selenite, Salt, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bacillus subtilis, Bifidobacterium thermophilum, Bifidobacterium longum, Enterococcus faecium.

Crude Protein 34.0% min
Crude Fat 16.0% min
Crude Fiber 8.5% max
Moisture 10.0% max
Ash 7.0% max
Magnesium 0.10% max
Taurine 0.15% min
Omega 3 Fatty Acids* 0.3% min
Omega 6 Fatty Acids* 3.0% min

Our kitties did really well on the Spa Select, actually. They were on Natural Choice Indoor before that, and after the change, their coats improved. I couldn't tell you why, after reading sharky's comments on it, though. Now I'm not sure whether to use that coupon I just got for another bag of it or not... Chase is eating Solid Gold, but my sister's cat very much prefers the Spa Select, so I've been keeping both out.

Sharky said a helluva lot, but all I have to say is that one has fish meal in it and the other has Menadione. That would make me shy away from the start.

What is Menadione? I never heard that before. Is it really bad?
Thanks

It is one of those 60000$ ???s

it is a synthetic viatimin K WHICH MOST foods have ... Many arent truthful on the label as to what type they use
... I dont like it at the top of the vitamins but if it is last or in the last five ingrediants I am a okay with it as I did talk to the vet and she thinks that the issue is not really a issue

Thanks for the information. I am thinking of just keeping her on the Natural Choice anyway. She doesn't get that many hair-balls and it is basically good food. I do give her wet also. She has been on Fancy Feast lately, she doesn't seem to like Natural Balance, and would not eat it. Thanks again
