Hypoallergenic cats....great!
Company selling them and raising them in a top-secret lab....sounds fishy (to me).

Here's a new york times article about them: http://www.nytimes.com/2006/10/06/sc...erland&emc=rss

Here's the official "allerca lifestyle pets" page: http://www.allerca.com/

I especially dislike how they refer to the cats as "products" and only show you 4 pictures of them...3 of which are of apparently the same cats.

They are raised in a lab/breeding facility and come with "softpaws" already in place, site says nothing about behavior modification (scratching posts, etc)...At least they are against declawing.

What do you think about this? Sounds a whole lot like the "glowfish" that came out about 2-3 years ago and didn't go over very well with myself or other folks in the online fish community....at least hypoallergenic cats serve more than a decorative purpose.

If you do a search on Allerca, you'll find a number of threads about them
And everyone here agrees with you - it's VERY fishy!!!

There's definitely something going on there. I'm all for helping people with allergies but I know there has to be something strange about those cats and the Allerca corporation.
