Okay, I decided what I am going to do for my friend who helped me out alot when I had no car..I asked for advice before on WHAT to do...now I need advice on HOW to do it

I am going to bring over a pizza for dinner at her place after work one day, and also make her a "burned" cd collection since I know I have alot that she would like..it is nice and inexpensive for my budget, but still thoughtful I think..

My question is, how do I make it pretty and creative and nice looking...and not just hand her a bunch of cds? Like, what can I put them in??

Can you guys think of any cute way to do this?

Thanks
I am creatively challenged

Yeah that is a great idea!!

Also, how to actually store the cds in their cases...like what do I put them ALL in to give them to her?

A handmade box perhaps made to size? I make those all the time and it's easy to make!

Wishing I were anywhere but here
You could get a small wicker or wooden basket to put the cds in once you have them in the cases. You could also just find some scrap material they sell as leftovers at a hobby shop that are usually only a few dollars. You could use it to fill in the basket and hold your cds in place. If you wanted, you could also buy a 1 or 2 bags of candy that she likes to add to it. and just tie a nice big ribbon on top.

Great ideas, everyone! I'm always on the lookout for unusual ways to wrap things, and frequent craft sales for such things. I recently gave a friend of mine a gift wrapped in a "hatbox" complete with feathers and rosettes, and wrapped in very cool tissue paper inside. I always decorate with handmade bows and ribbons if the box allows for it! Candies are a great idea for a filler - pretty with all the colours and edible too! The folks at work call me "Martha" because of all the unusual ideas I have for gift-wrapping. I believe the wrapping should be as fun and entertaining as the gift itself!

I don't know if you do scrapbooking or not, but one of the things you could do is take the cds, when you burn them, and put them into themes... like.. this cd reminds me of when we went to do this or that, and this one is just songs that make me think of you and how much fun we have together and how good of a friend you've been, etc.. if you scrapbook, and you have pictures, then you could put the cd's in the scrapbook on the same pages as corresponding pictures, then tie it all up in a "calzone" box or something.. I'm sure the pizza place would give an extra clean box to you. Just arrive with two pizza boxes, and say the smaller box is dessert.

That is what I'd do! I might decorate the basket too, like with paints or things. It depends on the person I'm making one for. I make baskets a lot lately.

If you lived closer, I would make you some CD labels to put on the CDs.

If you can use a graphic program, have either a CD label making program or if your burner software has such a featuer (IE: Nero), you can buy some CD Labels at Staples or Office Depot, add a picture and then print them off and then stick them to the CD so that they look nice and pretty instead of blank with felt marker on them.

You can also use the software to create the front and back covers for the CD case.

You can also buy empty CD cases at Staples and Office Depot too, either the thick cases or the thinner ones.

I've seen those labels that you can make...but I don't have a printer at home
So, I will have to get creative with markers and stuff I guess..

Hehe, I'm just going to give a warning here.. because it happened to my cd player.. watch putting any kind of sticker or label on them, cause they make the cd stick in the player. I've also heard that if you have a paper label on it it can leave "dust" in the player...

THat being said, though, I have a cd burner that will print laser images on the right kind of cd. If you have images you can d/l from the net and want to send the stuff to me, I can burn it all and put the images on the cd. They're not color, though, just shades of gray.

I just found out something awesome...my office has a colour copier and I just tested it, and it looks awesome!!

SO, I can actually make copies of the cd covers so the cds look kinda real!!

Then I think I will decorate a basket or a nice box to put them in

thats what I use too. I think the basket idea is great, because she can re-use it too. You can always put some candy in the basket with the cds, and maybe her favorite magazine or something like that too. I
baskets
You can fill them up with anything!
