new kitten owner

I'm a new kitten owner, have had Nickle for 12 weeks now and have an appt with vet in 1 1/2 weeks. All of a sudden, I can hear him breathing. Sounds like might have a very small amount of mucous in throat. Is this unusual? Should I be concerned? Thanks in advance for any help.

Thanks so much, both of you. Appreciate the advice. Will keep you posted. I really think he may have an allergy, as he is eating well, playing as usual, etc. No other changes, except for the breathing.
