Well the neighbors dogs got loose the other day, and well our neighbors cat went missing that night, she doenst let her cat outside usually just when shes out there her cat doesnt travel and like I said its once in a blue moon, because I havent even ever seen this kittie before! But the other neighbors dogs were loose AGAIN (they are always getting loose and roaming, and their has been so many complaints about it and nothing has been done) But they ended up getting her poor kittie
And worse of it was that this happened in our yard...I heard a cat cry that night and I went out because I thought it was a cat fight and I went out and said break it up and I didnt see anything or hear anything (It was dark out, it was about 10, 11 pm) And well my dad started to smell something and so did our other neighbor mary lou who is another big animal lover, so she had us go check it out and sure enough it was our neighbors kitties
So me and my mom went up today to tell her the news because we had no idea what to do..she called the cops who didnt do anything, just went down to the peoples house and said if and when their dogs are loose they will site them...but see another cop previously told them that if they got out one more time that was it, and well its been about 6 times since then

There has also been another incident were their dogs had killed a cat on the front street! Also these people are very irresponsible their one dog isnt fixed and well shes preggy again and they accused my poor cocoa of it..who is fixed and has no way of getting out to these dogs!!! Also we had first called her when they were out and they were sleeping mind u it was about 5 pm and then we did get ahold of them, and they called their son to get the dogs so they knew were the dogs were just drove around calling them..the next day though my mom made them come and get the dogs because they were still loose and the lady said well the cars not here, my mom told her get up and walk its right up the street
then she screams to my mom that she only brought one leash
Some people shouldnt own pets

But now..what to do
This poor kittie lost his life horribly over these dogs getting loose because the dad was drunk and left the door open which he does often!

But R.I.P Little sweet one play happily over the rainbow bridge

Sorry its so long I wanted to give some info on the situation..also if you have any advice on what to do now that would be great! I couldnt even imagine if it was our willie or midnight! Also we have alwasy had the feeling that these dogs chased willie out of here before whenever he went missing..because at that same time the dogs were loose! Also to add something else, these dogs went after MArylou and her pup when she was walking her! But I wanted to make a post all day about this lil kittie who lost his life so tragicually and I feel somewhat responsible as I should of went and investigated
It was just to dark!

Oh, what a tragic story
. I see you live in Pittsburgh, surely you have an Animal Control unit in your city government, no? I live in a rather small town in Indiana and WE have have an Animal Control office that comes out and picks up stray dogs in the neighborhood that are causing havoc.

It is not your fault. It is the fault if irresponsible owners. As far as what you can do - can you photograph the dogs when they are running loose? maybe that type of evidence would be helpful with the cops and animal control.

Play happily over the bridge, little one. I know a lot of great cats there to play with

under those kinds of conditions, you as a law abiding citizen, have the right to shoot to kill any animal that is dangerous that is on your porperty that is in a threating manner.

I am a do lover, and a cat lover. I have a Rottweiler, so i know all the CRAP that goes with owning one. But i made sure from the get go he was cat/small animal friendly. from 8 weeks old i took him to Pet Smart 3x a week to get used to ppl and pets, and made playdates and brought him to meet all size pets. I think it backfired cause now he got scared of my 6 week old kittens when they sneezed in his direction, lol

but anyway. If i saw a dog that has been deemed dangerous around my property, and i have cats, i would shoot to kill. Its protection of you and yours, and we all have that right. Ask any law enforcement officer and they will tell you the same ( i have asked). I dont like the idea, but if its between a neighbor dog and my kitty, and my kitty or dog is getting hurt,so sorry but i WILL shoot.

and yes i have a gun, and keep itout of the way ( no kids but still) and yes, i have had the training to use it, and many other types. I like being informed and forearmed.
