What about leg or Drumstick (as in off a chicken)? I say leg, or chicken leg... not drumstick..
i remember when I was younger and my sister from California came to visit, and she asked for a drumstick and I had absolutely noo idea what she was talking about!
This is what we have here in Portland. I don't think anyone calls them bubblers unless they are referring to their proper name. Simon Benson was a Norwegian immigrant who first lived in Wisconsin before moving to Oregon. Guess it is a Wisconsin thingOriginally Posted by Jenny1124
My husband calls a drinking fountain a "Bubbler".. but I've heard it's a Wisconsin only thing.. strange.
Yes, we're the same - Jello would be a dessert. Jams or jelly would be what we would put on toast.Originally Posted by Bonnie1965
I think most people here call the wobbly stuff eaten as desert Jell-o or gelatin. Sounds like it probably started out as jelly though. What do you call the fruit spread that is not preserves?
Hubby eats his french fries with mayonnaise but apparently that is very common in the Netherlands.Originally Posted by taterbug

You'd love Utah then, most fast food places here have "Fry Sauce" and that is exactly what it is, mayo and ketchup.Originally Posted by Bonnie1965
I love french fries dipped in a mixture of mayo and ketchup
I lived in SLC for a couple of years as a teen. Here a few places have fry sauce but not many. My first "real" job was at DerWeinerschnitzel (sp?)on State Street in SLC. Maybe that's where we learned of it?Originally Posted by Arlyn
