Well I just came back from picking up Whitey. apparently he didn't mind the dogs one bit. The groomer just loved him too, said that he is a really great cat. That's my boy!

Anyhoo, here are some "Before" shots:

Now the "After" Shots:

He's so velvety soft now...but I still miss his fluffiness. We probably won't do this to him again. Also his *ahems* stick out

He looks totally different! About 2 pounds lighter too!
Question: What's the most common reason that people take their cats to a groomer and shave them other than matted fur?

Yea! I asked the lady if she was sure that she gave me the right cat

We got him done mainly to see if it helped with the amount of hair that is everywhere and to help him in the summer heat. We do have air conditioning, but we wait until its H-O-T before turning it on (above 85 usually).

B is really concerned that his fur is going to grow back gray.
We'll see!

He's still beautiful...
Don't worry... it's going to grow back the same color it was before...

We keep laughing at him, just because how different he looks. One picture I have (I'll post it in a few) it just looks like someone Photoshoped his face and legs onto a gray cat.

He's handsome with or without the fur coat. He looks all velvety and I just want to reach out and touch him.

I much prefer the before shots, he's such a beautiful cat. I've heard you shouldn't shave long haired animals as the fur acts as insulation, summer & winter. I know he's probably an inside kitty, but if he were outside the summer sun could burn him. That's what I've read & heard!

No worries, we're not going to get him cut again. B thinks he looks too silly and well, we're having issues with the other cats. Luna thinks that he's a new cat and is growling at him. I've posted in the Behavior forum about that.

Oh and thank you everyone for the compliments. I'm telling Whitey all the positive stuff
to lift his spirits...I think he feels a little violated.
