Mooch makes silent ones. If you ask one of my cousins about my RB girl Glory, she will tell you about the first and only time she tried to pick her up. I tell people she squeezed one out of her!

That's what I was wondering...I never hear them...
are kitty farts audible??

I don't really smell them, either...although ONCE 2 years ago, I thought one of the guys was enshrouded in some funky air when he came to sit in my lap

No farting kitties (that has a lot to do with diet), but Ivory just loves to go leave a stinky in the litter box, then come immediately to me for loves and the stench clings to her for about 5 minutes.

Ahh to be loved.

My RB kitty, Spooky, could wake me from a dead sleep with hers!!! After I switched her away from the high fiber w/d cat food, she no longer had any problem with stinky kitty farts.

I think I've told this story before...
But when I first got Zissou she was a young kitten and had some pretty bad gas, only made worse by the deworming stuff.

For a couple of days, she would fart so loud you wouldn't have believed it didn't come from a cow. And when she did, she would freeze, puff up, and tear off in a full panic. She was terrified of farts. She would even try to attack her own butt.

Or any human's... if a human dared to fart in her presence, the offending um, part, was promptly attacked. Especially if you were sleeping.

Thankfully she's outgrown that

None of mine fart, though Molly used to. For the first year we had her, she was having problems with her food (constant diarrhea with a horrible stench each time she used the litter box, which would hang around for 10 minutes), and sometimes she would poot when you least expected it. Poor baby just couldn't digest kibble. But since being moved onto a RAW diet (with Willow and Buffy), her bowel problems have all but cleared up, and nobody complains about the stinky little kitty anymore.

But some days ago, Willow was sleeping with me and I was massaging her belly, feeling all the lumpies from her intestines. Her belly was gurling too (she was hungry), so I kept hunting those gurgles. When I felt air, or what felt like air, I'd massage it and it'd gurgle away into nothing. But at one point, when I massaged out the air, a rancid smell erupted and swallowed the two of us up. T'was nasty. But it made me giggle, since Willow has never farted in her lifetime (not that I know of) and this time I, myself, made her do it.
