I went to my first ever cat show this morning. Here are some pictures:

This boy had a first place ribbon on his cage. Can't you tell he is proud?

ETA - turns out this is Full Metal Jacket AKA Jack. He's been a feature of many Kai Bengal's posts.

The Siberians

A Rex. It was a Devon, I think

A Siberian

This cat hissed his way through the judging...

Some unusual hand painted benches that were for sale -

This is the only time this Maine Coon was still. He spent the rest of the time trying to get out of his cage.

Let's be friends -

Oh great pics Karen! It must be sooooo much fun to go watch them judge and just see all the kitties! I'd be in heaven! I love the kitty hissing!

The show looked pretty big, huh? It seems like there were a lot of cats. Great pictures!
It looks like the next show in Chicago isn't until February.

Thanks for all the Ragdoll/'Muffin pics!

No, you weren't allowed to touch them.

Abby got three wand toys that were 3/$10, and 3 small fleece mats that were $2 each.

I did too, but some of the things were quite reasonable.

The Siberians are incredible Karen.

I love going to cat shows.
It is almost as fun to watch the judges and owners as the cats.

Alix says where are the American Curls?? Her last show ever, was in New Jersey...she made it clear it was her last show when she charged at the judge after she was judged and was being put into the cage at ringside.
Nothing like having to apologize for your cat!

Yes he is.
I just found out be reading Nial's thread.

I didn't see the Aby judging and none of the Aby's were benched in cages. They were all in carriers with heavy clear plastic or black mesh. It was next to impossible to get pictures.

Honestly though, the cat that wasn't behaving yesterday was enjoyed by all.
He had personality plus. I did not see a single Curl, only one Scottish Fold.

It depends on the kind of misbehaving
Alix's sister, would simply curl up in a ball in the judges arms or on the table. She was labelled the "armadillo" curl by one TICA judge.

One of our last cats that we showed, loved his first show as a kitten. His first show as an adult, hormones were kicking in..he hated the smell of the other males, and though he behaved very well, he'd be on the judging table and the fur would ridge up on his back...it was unlike anything I'd ever had a show cat do...plus he would hiss at the cat next to his cage in the show ring as the judge put him back after judging...just to make the point that he should be taken seriously and if given the chance he'd kick their behind!
