Ferris has been even more lovey than he usually is - if that's possible. He BEGS to be be stroked - I really think he loves the feeling of being petted without all that fur in the way!

He is loving it SO much, that last night, for the very first time ever, he curled up in my arms, on my chest, and purred himself to sleep as I petted him all over. And then he stayed in my arms like that for over a half-hour. Until I coughed and startled him, then he ran away.

Before he fell asleep, though, he kept raising his head up and looking at me, rubbing the top of his head up underneath my chin - I think he was telling me that he loves me, too.

That's it - he is definitely going to have a furcut in the summer from now on - we'll have to try somehow to get him socialized to the point where I could take him to a groomer and get it done without sedation.

I'm working on getting him more used to grooming with my new Furminator (OMG why didn't anyone DEMAND that this be the only comb I ever buy!) and I cannot believe how much fur it took off just the top of his head and back of his neck!
And he was supposedly groomed just the day before!!!

I am trying to touch his belly more, trying to get him used to it, and with his fur being so short there, the touch seems to be a little less threatening.

He really is my special boy - I'm even MORE in love with him today!

I honestly think Magnum prefers it after his lion cut too... and I still haven't made an appointment for him

Ferris looks cute with his unusual fur cut and not wearing a fur coat (and not being hurt when you walk because of matted fur) must be nice too.

I'm sure Ferris feels so free. I know my own hair bothers me, to the point of distraction. I have long hair, down to my waste, and I just can't stand it touching my neck, especially in the summer. I can imagine how a long haired cat would feel with all of that hair all over his body.

By the way, I would LOVE to see Magnum in a lion cut. That would have to be the most adorable site in the world.

Awwww that's awesome that he's so affectionate - almost makes it worth all the pain you went through

It must feel so wonderful to be rid of all that fur!

I'm glad you like the Furminator as well! It'll be great if he hangs out with you for snuggles and lets you brush him!
