Ferris has been even more lovey than he usually is - if that's possible. He BEGS to be be stroked - I really think he loves the feeling of being petted without all that fur in the way!
He is loving it SO much, that last night, for the very first time ever, he curled up in my arms, on my chest, and purred himself to sleep as I petted him all over. And then he stayed in my arms like that for over a half-hour. Until I coughed and startled him, then he ran away.
Before he fell asleep, though, he kept raising his head up and looking at me, rubbing the top of his head up underneath my chin - I think he was telling me that he loves me, too.
That's it - he is definitely going to have a furcut in the summer from now on - we'll have to try somehow to get him socialized to the point where I could take him to a groomer and get it done without sedation.
I'm working on getting him more used to grooming with my new Furminator (OMG why didn't anyone DEMAND that this be the only comb I ever buy!) and I cannot believe how much fur it took off just the top of his head and back of his neck!
And he was supposedly groomed just the day before!!!
I am trying to touch his belly more, trying to get him used to it, and with his fur being so short there, the touch seems to be a little less threatening.
He really is my special boy - I'm even MORE in love with him today!
