I'm so excited...I'm going to a Hummingbird Festival in September!

Well, since I've been looking into getting a digiscope for birding, I have always wanted to go to a Hummingbird Festival and Texas is one of the best birding states since it does have all 16 species of hummingbirds (the only other state next to AZ which is the hummingbird capital of the US). I can also pick up tons of shore birds and should have time to practice until then. The festival is from September 13-16, but we will go up there on 14th and leave to go back on the 16th.

I asked my mom if she would like to go and I don't want to go by myself. We are going to stay 2 nights and it should be tons of fun. I just have to make sure I can take the time off and will put it in as soon as I get to work on monday. What do you guys think?

Oh, I love hummingbirds! I could watch them for hours! Once we actually have trees in our yard, one of the first things I'm going to get is a hummingbird feeder. Post some pics when you get back, and have a great time!

I will post pictures for sure! You know you can still put feeders up without trees? They window feeders you could put up on your window with suction cups.
