We're moving to a house about an hour away from where we live now. We will be moving the fish sometime within the next 5 days. Does anyone know how to travel with fish. Is an hour going to be really hard on them? Do I have to worry about O2 or anything? Anything will help me. I bought anti-stress stuff/slim coating, not sure if that will make a difference or not.

I don't know what kind of fish you have but 5 gallon rubber-maid containers (minus the lids) work great! They give the fish room but are still move-able when they have water in them (fill about 2/3 way full). Don't put too many fish in one container because when they are stressed they produce a lot of ammonia and with too many fish the levels will sky-rocket too quickly. The stress coat stuff will be good to add.

You can buy battery operated air-pumps with bubble stones at Wal-Mart in the fishing supplies section. They are really cheap (around 8 dollars I think) and they work great for moving the fish. Just tape the airline tubing to the side of the containers so that it doesn't move, and then if you want too you can attach the lids over the tubing and the fish will still get oxygen the whole time.

Thats all I can think of right now but if I think of anything else I'll let you know.

you have gotten great advice ... i was told for lager fish 18 gal totes( rubbermaid ) half filled work well... that was the advice to someone moveing an hour away
and has a 100 plus gallon tank... Try to get at least half your water ( old ) so you dont lose you bacteria

www.fishaholics.org is another good one... I know one of creator of the site/ mods and she now owns her own shop
