Meow? Mmmmmeeeow! meoooooww?! prthhhhmeeow? Meeeeeeeeooooww? mmmmmmmmmmmeow? mmeeeoooeeeooooww!!
While she walks all over me. And then she sits on my chest with her face right in mine. I ignore her but it does wake me up. So i doze for another hour and when i do pet her when she gets up, turns around and presents me with her butt, so i will scratch the base of her tail!!!!!! She doesn't seem to care for head/ear scratching, all she wants is for that ONE spot to be scratched while i get the pleasure of looking at her rear!
Did i mention that it gets light here about 4:00?
Ah the life of living with a cat....

Ahhh the joys of those early morning love me sessions. Both my cats are early risers, Sassy likes to stare into my face and make these little chirpy meows to get a reaction. This usually involves me putting my arm on him so he falls over beside me. Of coarse he is okay with this because he got what he wanted, me awake. Linus on the other hand likes to play, he thinks he is a retriever of all things. He will bring me one of his crinkly balls ( he has at least 15 of them) and sit it one the bed beside me. If I ignore him he doesn't take it personally he just thinks I don't want that ball and goes and gets another one. Some mornings I end up with 10 of them laying beside me when I finally throw them all out into the living room for him.
As you said ahhh the life of living with a cat...

My cats no longer are allowed in the room at night (co-sleep with the baby) and they have adjusted well to it - no scratching at the door. Now if I could only get Derek not to wake me up.....

I have their cat beds right outside the door and they sleep there. They know that they will get loving when we get up. Merlin tried for the 1st little while to scratch, but after getting no response he stopped it fairly quickly.

I'll have to break down and get a cat bed. I wanted a cat to sleep at the foot of my bed, but THAT'S IT!! I do not want the alarm clock feature!!
I frowned upon cat beds, "who doesn't want their cat to sleep with them??" I thought. Boy was i naive!! LOL

LOL! Good luck. My cats prefer the queen-sized cat bed.
