Where did you get your kitties?

Cleo came from the local animal shelter, she was to be put down the next day. Maggie came from someone giving away kittens by the side of the road, they were going to take the leftovers to the above mentioned animal shelter that evening. Lola was dropped off on my vet's office doorstep, in a carrier, on a cold, late autumn day. I consider them all to be rescues.

anyone notice a pattern here??

I got Chichi from a friend of my Dad's. She was the runt of the litter, and no one wanted her that was 17 years ago

I got Murphy from a nice lady right here on TCS. She fosters kitties I took one look, and that was that

Raven & Nabu- from a co-worker. He thought he had found them a home, but the lady changed her mind. He was relieved when I picked them up, she was keeping them outside and threatening to take them to the shelter.

Stimpy- from a shelter. I worked there at the time. He had a urinary blockage when he came in, and I knew his chances for adoption were slim. He picked me from the time he met me anyway.

Roxie came from All About Spay & Neuter, a shelter in my area. She was being fostered by a wonderful woman. She had been found abandoned in a PetCo paking lot in Brooklyn (which is a very busy & congested area!!). We plan on getting our next kitten through them as well!

I got Gizmo off the streets when he was just a kitten. A friend of mine found him and his two brothers abandoned in a back alley. They were only about 5-6 weeks at the time. So I ended up keeping one and we found good homes for his brothers.

Tiger & Angel: From Petsmart/Last Chance Society (Birthday gift for me!)

Sassy (siamese, put to sleep in 2003 from cancer) came from a lady who lived a few houses down from us before we moved.

Lucy was from another lady in our neighborhood who had kittens. She wasn't going to give her away, but after we had problems with a male kitty, she gave us Lucy.

Stinky was a stray and kept crawling up into our vents in the winter and meowing at us, so we let him in, and decided to keep him.

Sassy (calico) used to live with my mom's friend, but she's old, and the other cats were mean to her, so she asked if we would take her home.

Clover came from the animal shelter that I found out about last summer.. I saw her and her sister that looked just like her the first time I went, and ended up adopting one.

Callie came from a lady in our town who we know, and when we were walking, she asked if we wanted a kitten, and we weren't going to get one, but we decided to anyways.

Harley- John's mom's cat had kittens, so we got him from that litter.
Davidson - Harley's step brother- his moms cat had kittens again... we got him from that litter.
Bayley- The Humane Society

I had a cat Nemo (RB) and before I was educated

she had two litters of kittens and we kept six of her kittens. We also were late on getting Uno spayed which resulted in another litter and we kept two of those kittens.

Miagi - a lady "found" him in her basement and she didn't want him. oh well. her loss right? he's such an awesome kitty. so is Tiger! I think he was her cat to begin with.

Tiger - these people found him and said him and another cat were dumped on the highway. They also said he was thrown out of a car. he had a kink in his tail when we got him but it's all healed now. they couldn't keep him because they were moving. I was supposed to see the other cat they had, but I told my mom when I saw him I knew he was ours. he's my cuddly boy. while Miagi is my goofy boy.

I have only had these 2 in my life for cats and I am telling you they are truly the best cats you could ever ask for. I am very blessed to have them in my life.

Katie: stray found as a kitten
Gracie: born to a feral mom in a coloney cared for by a friend
Peter and Claire: born to a feral mom and trapped along with her at their littermates at age 3 1/2 months by the Neighborhood Cat Helpers. I was volunteer and adopted through there.

My bf got Tiger, our orange tabby polydactyl, way before he met me... For free off of a farm. He was not even 8 weeks from what I am told. I got my Kitten Nollee at Petco (an adoption agency called New Living was showing their kitties and I adopted one) this past February. Both my kitties were feral (Tiger not as much as Nollee, Nollee finally encountered people at about 6 months) rescues, so to speak. I wouldn't have it any other way. Both of mine where barn kittens.

Quill ~ From the Humane Society of Western Quebec, but we adopted him through PetsMart.

Oscar- was the first cat we got from someone in our building that was re-homing him. He got bounced around alot his first year so we were glad to give him a permanent home.

Tiggy, Lex and Patches- were all kittens of a stray we took in that turned out to be pregnant. We were only going to keep one of the kittens but after they were born we couldn't give them up.
