Oh, I'm glad it's a good thing!

Thought I'd add my RB kitties.

Kitty-Cat - adopted from cousin's cat who had kittens
Diana - 4 week old kitten washed up (on my doorstep) during a flood
Moon-Pie - pregnant stray, again showed up at my door
Wilda - foster I fell in love with (and vice versa) so I guess she was a failed foster.
Wilda and my daughter shared the same birthday, different year.

Its a years long story but to make it short I rescued them from a busy shopping center parking lot all except Cammie & Mickey. And kept them
I must have lost my mind now though I wouldn't trade them for anything

Patches was an orphaned kitten that a co-worker had rescued. She had a lot of animals already and was looking for a home for him.

Alice came from a pet store. I know that has a bad reputation but this particular store gets their kittens from people bringing in unwanted litters and during kitten season from small rescues that are full.

We got Willow from a free-kittens ad in the paper (it was 6 years ago, though; we didn't know any better)

Buffy was a 4 week old orphan we got from the vet hospital, the day after her mom and siblings all died.

Molly came from a tree that grows cats. Haha, nah, we found her stuck in a tree (she'd been there for at least 5 hours, according to nearby homes), and we brought her home with the intention of keeping her only until someone claimed her as their lost kitty, but nobody called, so we ended up keeping her.

Tom -- adopted him when he was eight because no one wanted him.
He was a rescue kitty.

Kittens (Emma and Chili) -- There was a "free kittens" sign. Yeah, need I explain more?

Tabitha - came from a house with a "free kitten" sign.. she had been found on the major highway around here
Spooky Bear - found him in the barn when he was about 4 weeks old, no momma around
Spike - also came from a house with a "free kitten" sign
Sasha - former feral
Missy - showed up at the farm
Leo - came from a feral mom at John's uncle's house
Lady - showed up here

And then of course the kittens we're keeping were all born here to the foster kitties.

Stan and Bella both came from a rescue society. My DH saw Stan (or rather Stella--they had him listed as a girl) on petfinder and jumped through all sorts of hoops to get him

When we went to get Stan, DH was insistent that we get him a companion and that I pick out the companion. We went into the kitty room (all the healthy non aggressive cats were in one big flat together) and I spent about an hour meeting and petting lots of kitties. Bossy miss Bella kicked someone off my lap and plunked herself down. Hasn't been off of my lap for long since.

We have another kitty (Molly) that DH left at his father's house when he moved out. She is still very happy there and his brothers and father really love her, so we couldn't take her away. DH found her in an abandoned building he was looking to rehab. We still see her often and make sure she has proper flea meds and vet time when necessary.

I could probably take one more, but I'm leaving room in case we have to take in a siamese named Monty who currently belongs to an older friend.

Wow. DH likes his kitties (runs off to post in "why do you love your significant other thread"
)

Six of my eight cats are related.
I had a cat Nemo (RB) and before I was educated
she had two litters of kittens and we kept six of her kittens. We also were late on getting Uno spayed which resulted in another litter and we kept two of those kittens.

Gizmo - from a friend as a kitten
Moochie - Son of Nemo
Button - Daughter of Nemo
Egore - Son of Nemo
Uno - Daughter of Nemo
Bob - Son of Uno
Penelope - Daughter of Uno
Frostie - adopted from Craigslist

Charmin - daughter of Nemo who now lives with my son

I am happy to tell you that all the cats are now spayed/neutered so there will be no more unwanted pregnancies

Reyah - We adopted her from the local animal shelter. She had come in with another cat, and both of them were pregnant. They gave birth within 10 days of each other. Reyah's kittens didn't make it and the other cat didn't produce enough milk for her 6, so Reyah raised them. All of the kittens got adopted, and a friend of mine that works for the shelter fell in love with her personality, so she chose to foster her. Would you believe that my friend had her for a little over 3 months, and even though she kept taking her to Petsmart on adoption days, no one was interested in her?? Their loss was our gain!
She reminded me so much of my girl that I lost 2yrs ago, so I fell in love, and told my husband that I wanted to adopt her. He agreed and, well, here she is.

Athena - She is the kitten that we're bottle-feeding. She was found abandoned with 4 other kittens. The same friend of mine who fostered Reyah was at Petsmart for the shelter and someone brought them in. She called me and asked if I could bottle-feed one of the kittens. She had the others taken care of. We agreed and that's how she came to us.

I got PHX off of craigslist.org from a lady that got him from the animal shelter. But she said she had too many cats and got rid of PHX. He's the only cat she got rid of. (There MUST have been a reason she got rid of him, because she had 8 cats. What's the difference between having 7 or 8?)

Look behind you
When I was little we found a litter of kittens under my grandma's house, we all took them to our house and fed and cared for them until we could give them away, I got to pick one to keep and I picked Sweetpea

My other cat, Sky, my dad's friend was moving into an apartment that didnt allow pets, and so he gave her to us.
