(My apologies if this topic goes in a seperate board.) I was just wondering a few minutes ago, "Does Zoe have a routine? I guess she does! What about the people on TCS? Do their cats have routines?" Yes, yes, kind of a random thing, but it happens with me, get used to it.
Anywho, does your cat have a routine?

Zoe gets up at about 5:00 - 5:30 am each morning, and I get up about 6:00 - 6:30 am. She gets her spoonful of wet food and then messes around some. About 8:00, she goes outside to play with June, Rose, Sherbert, Lucy, Starbucks, and Chloe (kittens her age). She's out there for about 30 - 45 minutes, then she comes back in. I'll play with her for about 30 minutes, and then she kind of goes off and does her own thing. Before her nap she gets a treat, like a piece of cheese or meat. Between 11:30 and 12:30, she'll settle down for a 1-2 hour nap. When she gets up, I'll play with her for about 45 minutes again, and later on in the afternoon about 15 more minutes. She may take little cat naps about 40 minutes long during the afternoon... Then in the evening, she goes out again with the kittens for maybe 15-20 minutes. Then she gets fed another 1/4 can of wet and we play with her for about 1 hour, to tire her out. Then we go to bed about 9:00...

Kind of a boring subject, but whatever.
That is how Zoe's routing normally goes. What 'bout you?

What strikes me is that she sounds like she must be starving! A 'spoon' of food in the a.m. (even with a piece of cheese or meat later)? Then 1/4 can of food in the evening? Wow, I can't believe she isn't tearing the house down (or getting it somewhere else out there).

I think most people w/ pets have a routine. The cats definitely have a routine when i wake up, go to sleep, and come home from work....it's so funny!

Charlie sits next to me and kindly waits for me to wake up...and when that alarm clock goes off, he's at the bathroom door meowing for his morning sink drink....Vegas goes into my boyfriends bathroom and begs for water there, or both of them will be at the door...kinda random, but always need to get into the bathroom w/ me while I wash up.....then of course it is Feeding time for Vegas - charlie doesn't care for the wet food but as a once in a while treat.

I dunno I could write a novel about my cats routines....which change somewhat over time...

Oh, no, don't worry! She gets 1/4 of a 5.5 oz can in the morning and evening, and she has dry kibble all the time! Sorry for the misunderstanding! I'm not that cruel!

Oh yes, definitely, many of them every day, but too long to go into detail. But we cannot leave one out or they are stressed! Heck, even moving a pillow to a different place on the couch freaks them out!

I used to give Vegas half a can - once in the AM and once in the PM...and then she free feeds...and still does, however because she was getting a bit fat, the vet suggested i cut it down to 1/4 can in the AM, and 1/4 in the PM! Worked like a charm, now she's what she should be at...tho lately she's been gorging on the dry!

Lexington-- I'm not sure you saw my first post. She gets free dry kibble all the time.

That's great... I'm glad you can see why I was a bit worried - my 3 eat what seems to be a lot, but I don't leave food out all day, so that probably makes a big diff. too.
