Riley's foster mama has a new feral kitty. Of course I didn't know that until I tried to pick her up,
I have plenty of band-aids to show for it this morning! She sat in the room and watched and played with the toys but definitely didn't want a human touching her!

Anyways, I'm wondering what color you would call her. At first she appeared to be just black, but then when you get a better look you can see she has these charcoal grey tabby markings and some around her face. There is no brown or red on her at all.

Very odd. But could be a black or chocolate smoke. Be interesting to see how the kitten changes over the next month or two.

I'll get some pictures of her in a month or so to see how she looks then! (hopefully she will be a little more socialized by then, so I don't get munched, lol)

Thanks!

What a pretty kitten! It will be cool to see how her coat changes over time.

BTW the tabby markings just indicate one of the parents is a tabby - they probably will fade away eventually.

Great, I didn't know that! I'll definitely let you know how she looks in a month or so. Its going to take a while to socialize her so she won't be going anywhere soon.

Friends of mine had a cat that was quite similar to that kitten in colour only he was a classic tabby rather than a mcTabby.

The ghost tabby markings faded a bit as he grew older but you could always see them, especially in bright light.

He had the "smoke" effect as well, the roots of all his hairs were a palse silvery grey colour while the tips were black. He had hazel eyes with not much green.
