I have a golden retriever too!!! His name is Melvin. He's going to be 7 this year, and I can't believe it! He's a really RED golden boy, and he's a bit overweight (he has hip dysplasia and walking is getting harder for him), and would probably look really silly shaved, but it looks adorable on your girl! Does she like to swim?

being a Basset.. It will make her feel Great.. I had a dog [ once when we cut him he would hide..

Awwww poor girl!! She might not be any cooler - their coats are insulating and help keep them cool - but I'm sure she won't shed as much!!! She looks a lot like a Lab now (except for the tail of course!)

the lady who runs the shelter where I volunteer has a golden mix that she shaves every summer and he is so cute.

We shave Boo every summer (all that Newfie hair in Florida is not a good thing
) and he just loves it like crazy. Makes him so happy he just dances around showing off his new 'do!
