We FINALLY got DSL today. We've been trying to get it from the phone company for about 6 months now. They just called us this morning and said that our installation kit was at the office and we could pick it up anytime. John just got it hooked up on our computer. It's soooooooooooo much nicer than dial-up!

I wish I had DSL at home. There is a reason why I am only on at work....

Congratulations! You'll never want to be without it again. And I bet you'll be spending a lot more time here.

My broadband went OUT a few days ago and now I am forced to use dial up again until this thing gets fixed. You have to be a real TCS person to even get on the !&%$#@ computer and you have to stay away from the pictures that I love so much.

When we lived in town we had DSL but (though the internet people didnt bother to tell us) we had to switch back to dial-up, (because its not availavble in our area, we are a mile away from getting it)I hate it.
So congratz, but i'm jelous!

That was the problem here too for awhile. They had to update our boxes or whatever so we could get it on this road. We were only 1/4 of a mile from getting it, so it sucked. Dial-up wouldn't have been so awful if my modem on my computer worked properly, but I had to restart the computer 30+ times a day due to modem error.

While a couple phone companies offer dsl-its not available where I live. I was talking with someone on Sat who lives a good 10 miles from me and he said the closest DSL is still 4-5 miles away from us. And with not having cable-dial up it is (for now!!)

Yay!
I'm still a dinosaur on dial-up, & have been wanting to get service thru the cable company. Not sure if the landlord would care too much for the hole being drilled thru his wall, though...A co-worker kind of has me paranoid about DSL & the virus situation..
We're not on the computer a whole heck of alot, but there are many times I would love a fast hookup!
