That is horrible! We have been lucky with our car so far - bought it May 06 and it is still running great (Kia Sedona).

We just spent $200 figuring out what was wrong with our car. The repairs would be another $450.
We're going to trade it in within a month or so. Our air conditioning has been breaking down every 6 months to the tune of $500-$800 each time, since we bought the darn thing. (Don't buy a Grand Am
) The air conditioning is working "good enough" to trade in right now.

I've had mine since March 06 and no problems! (Pontiac Grand Prix

My last car was a Grand Am and let me say -- I feel your pain. I must have had my air conditioning fixed/serviced a million times just to have it work alright for a little while... Good thing you're trading in... Those cars seem to always have something wrong with them!

I have a 1998 Isuzu Rodeo. I did not buy it new, but I do have equity in it,especially now that it is paid off. I was thinking of just trading it in, like today, but the value will be much less when I have an obvious leak. Hopefully after this work, my car will last another year or so with no BIG repairs. I the mean time I can shop around at my leisure for a new car.
I've had this car for 5 years now, it's a little bigger than i actually need.
I'm thinking about a Mazda 3....

Uh...I had a 9 year old car, found out the transmission was going bad and traded it in that same week. Now I have a 7 year old car but at least it only had one owner and wasn't an auction car for $2000. I'm crossing my fingers on this one!
