I have a little kitty named April who hurt her paw somehow and is on antibiotics for it. Because her paw is sore, she is inconsistant with the litterbox. She will not use the Feline Pine litter and is iffy with the clay litter. I just tried paper today for her and she hasn't used it yet. I have her in a rather large two level cage and obviously she is not happy. She is howling LOUD non-stop. How can I make the poor girl more comfortable?? It is really warm in my room and she keeps panting. I feel awful. I have a fan on blowing in her direction at the bottom of the cage she is in.

The fan may be upsetting her more than the heat... cats like warmth and unless it's really horrid, I'd try giving her a break from it. Have you tried getting her outside on the grass on a lead just for a few days to do her business? She might find it easier to deal with.

Outside is a great idea. The fan though, I have had it on and off her and she is the same eitehr way. But I will try outside right now and see what happens.
