Hmm....I'm gonna have to keep my eye on them on e-bay. Sounds perfect for DH's allergies and all. I should probably get it before my job ends next week though! I've had the darndest time getting the girls to stop shedding. Especially Noodles who has such fine fur. It goes right up your nose or gets stuck in your throat even sometimes. If he calls in a bit I may ask if I should go ahead and get it!

I used it on Smudge and WOW!!! It got so much more fur out than my other brushes in a much shorter time, and her coat feels softer as well. I noticed with the other brush that actually got fur out made her fur feel quite coarse after a brushing - this one is sooooo much nicer!!!!
It does doesnt it??? I LOVE mine!!! Betsy you are going to LOVE it!!!!

I got the medium size - the small looked pretty small, and the medium definitely doesn't seem too big for my little girls.

If you want one and there's a Petsmart near you, go to the PetSmart website, print out the page with the cheaper price, and take that with you to get the online price
I'm not sure how long they'll have the special on for, but it worked out much cheaper than getting it from eBay and paying for the Priority Mail shipping!

Thanks for the heads up!!

I have the ZoomGroom now & the boys like that- but I've always wanted to try the Furminator- it looks like it wouldn't have so much fly away hair like the ZG does

It does hold the fur a lot better than the zoom groom, but the boys adore the zoom groom so I use the furminator to get rid of all the extra fur and the zoom groom for fun after.

It just passed the major test. We never get any fur off Stumpy with our current brush - maybe a few hairs.... The furminator just got heaps of fur off her!!!!

Ok I've still got the feeling that one of Noodles' hairs is stuck in the back of my mouth from this morning....so I've printed their webpage and I'm going to see if I can get one at sale price. If not, I'm going to try online. I thought about it, and even though I haven't asked if DH cared (normally I know he wouldn't but since I'm about to be laid off...), I think he'll appreiciate if it works this good. And I take TCS recommendations on things like this as complete truth!

Try putting a little vaseline on the tip of your nose - after you've licked it off, you should have no problems coughing up that furball.

Seriously, thank you Sarah - I'm just waiting for you to PM me with the grand total including postage so I can get a check off to you.

I'm looking forward to my new toy, I mean, to receiving my new grooming TOOL.

Nuh uh...might give me away!
I LOVE the furminator, but unfortunately, the boys do not, lol. So grooming time for them isn't any fun. What I do is use the furminator to get a lot of their undercoat and then vigorously use the zoomgroom to get the topcoat and voila! A new cat, lol!

Btw, I wish I had seen this thread earlier because I could have warned you that you would need to print the online price out and take it with you.
I called once a long time ago and asked if they matched their online prices and they said yes, but you have to bring in a printout of the page.

I've been doing that since, no problems (and recently saved about $30 on the Feliway diffuser refills).

You know I told my co-worker just this morning I felt like I had a hairball back there....thought of the vaseline trick too!

I just gave Mooch a short session with it. Got about a kitten out of her. She wouldn't sit still so I kept sliding around the kitchen floor following her and giving her fish flakes! I figured I better ease her into it. Noodles I am anxious to get at. She's next!

Oh and Petsmart did price match it for me. I got one for my mother and one for me so I'm one happy camper!

That's great!! And an awesome way to get cheaper stuff from Petsmart! We just put Smudge on the top of the cat tree in the morning when it's sunny. She LOVES morning snuggles, and loves rolling around in the morning sun, so she happily rolls around nuzzling us, and we get to brush her

so excited! placed a "make offer" on eBay for a furminator (small one -- got the posts about the medium after making the offer
...didn't think the guy would accept the offer, either!
).

I bid $12 for a small furminator (+ $4 shipping)
. Can't wait to defuzz'em!
into this
??!!

P.S. Got an email from healthypets.com & they just put their medium furminator on sale for $32.95...hmm...does one need more than one furminator??

Well I'm satisfied. Noodles I have to do just a little at a time, so she's not 'done' but then neither is Mooch really. I'll just keep at them for the next few days. I'm guessing once I get their extra furs under control I'll be fine to wait a week between brushings. Oh and Mooch loved being groomed with it. She was purring and acting sooo silly!

That's great that Mooch loves it! Isn't it funny how some cats love one brush but hates others??

We could get Smudge to sit still for brushings if we got her at the right time, but Stumpy hated the old brush, but Lily didn't mind it. Now Stumpy doesn't mind the furminator, and Lily runs away after just a couple of strokes with it.
