Scratch was getting small mats on his underside, so DH and I decided to give it a go and try to cut or brush them out. He hates to be held so this can be quite a process. Just before we started I suggested that if the process didn't work that we may have to take him to the V-E-T to get a lion cut. Something in his little brain must have clicked because he let us get all of them out. I don't know if it was the threat of going to see Dr. Kelly, being shaved, or having to spend any amount of time in the kitty carrier that did it, but what ever I said made him work with us.

What a goofy boy.

Maybe Scratch could have a talk with Ferris about that?

I thought about Ferris when we started to do it.

I did give him tons of treats afterwards. Not that he needed them.

Wickett was the same way... now he sits very still (when he's in the mood) and allows me to get all of his chest and belly combed. He them sits in front of the cabinet where I keep the treats and looks between me and the cabinet until I get him some for being such a good boy! I bet after a few more times Scratch will figure it out too.
