Hello Everyone,
I am "IBelongInTheZoo" (I bet you knew that), and I am new here (I bet you knew that too). My twin sister (I bet you didnt know I was a twin. Now you do) "TheZooKeeper" is new too. In case you didnt know, the reason we have "zoo" themed usernames is because we have had MANY pets through the years (fish, hermit crabs, frogs, 4 cats, 3 rats, 4 iguannas, and 3 rabbits). Currently we have 2 cockatiels and will soon adopt 2 more cats. With ALL these animals around I feel like I DO live in a zoo sometimes.
My sister and I decided to join this forum because, as I said before, we will be adopting 2 new members into the family. We thought that this forum would be the "purr-fect" place learn how to care for them. Although we have had cats in the past, these cats will be different from our previous cats (Midnight and JC).
One way this will be different is that our other cats were born at home and we were their ONLY owners. This allowed us to know EVERYTHING about them: their likes and dislikes, their personalities, etc. The cats we will be adopting will be different. These cats will have had different owners, experiences, different likes and dislikes, etc. All of these things we will have to learn along the way.
Another reason that these cats will be different is that while Midnight and JC were outdoor cats, these 2 cats will be indoor cats. We have to now learn how to cat proof our house and make it more cat friendly. We also have to train the cats to not go after our 2 birds.
Any advice and suggestions you could give would be greatly appriciated.
P.S. My name is Robin. My sister is Amber.
