The house is packed

Well on track for my move this week. Got everything packed except TV, cpmputer and stereo, you know the really important stuff! lol. I think the furkids know something serious is going on but they seem to be ok as long as we are together.

I will be doing most of the driving at night and of course will stop every so often. I am hoping they will sleep most of the way! I'll have a small litterbox in the truck for Midnight and plenty of water for them.

I also got a leash for Midnight but I bet she hates it. Well, she will get over it because I will not have her darting off somewhere and never seeing her again. She will get over it...

I love moving. I think it is because you pack up all of your stuff, and then you get to find a new place to put it or get rid of it. It's kinda like spring cleaning on a HUGE scale.

Where are you going? To or from Memphis? I am right outside Memphis.

We are way behind on packing and we move Saturday.

I am moving to Geart Bend Kansas from Memphis. I'll be teaching at the junior college there and am really looking forward to it!

And ya I have purged alot of stuff..enough paper for a forest!

I continue to be amazed at the ignorance of people though. In addition to Midnight I have an 11 months old Labrador. An acquaintance asked me if I were going to put them in the back of the rental truck or on my Jeep that I will be pulling on a trailer... I just said no they will ride up front with me where it is airconditioned and they will be more comfortable...**sigh**

LOL!! Good luck on the trip. I am so jealous you are getting out of here. When I get my degree I will be heading somewhere that doesn't average 100 degrees during the summer!!

Thanks! Actually I don't mind the heat and I guess I am used to the humidity! but it will be a different climate!

I hear ya...and it never crossed my mind to carry them anywhere but up front with me. You are absolutely right. Some people just do not get it.

Sadly I bet some people do put their pets in those trucks. What a dreadful way to travel. That thought never even crossed my mind.

I think they know something is up. They have seen me packing things in boxes and all...Tal have even "helped" me pack! lol. They seem to be just fine as long as we are together. They know that when dad leaves he comes back and they are safe around me. So I bet they are fine. Hopefully they will sleep most of the way!
