I am fostering three kittens and in the process of weaning them. I was told that "chicken baby food" works great....i mix it with the KMR and a little kitten chow and water..they ate it good at first but now they are more involved with playing and less worried about eating. I keep them in a large dog cage because my older kittens (10 weeks old) are just to rough. They are excited to run the house for a little while that eating is not on there minds. I put the food in there cage and they might eat it when i put them back. They will take a couple sips from the bottle but that is it.
I am not to worried because they are so playful. Climb everywhere!!
Any other suggestions on weaning and what other combinations of food that works well. Thanks

I've never used human baby food for weaning. All I do is get canned kitten food (high quality) and add KMR and warm water to make it mushy. Usually stick to giving them chicken, then beef, then turkey - rarely any fish. I also shred into very tiny pieces some boiled chicken breast.

When they start eating the chicken they turn into vicious little monster - its funny as all heck - they do tiny kitten growls; put paws on the chicken pieces and eat as quick as they can

Many people (especially persian people) feed the human baby foods - I just don't like it. Tried it with my rexes for a show and they wouldn't touch the stuff. So I never offered it to rex kittens.
