Skinny cat

Boo all of about 2 lbs. She's extremely emaciated, IE her sides nearly touch each other, you can clearly see her backbone. She's about as thick as my wrist! How can I fatten her up quickly? I've got her on kitten food, free feeding. SHe also is getting canned food, as much as she wants in the evening.

Does you vet have a concern about her condition? That would be who I would ask first. Some cats just have a higher metabolism rate and are skinnier than others. Instead of asking people who cannot see the health of your animal, you would be better served to ring up your vet and ask him or her. There could be an underlying reason that she is skinny and your vet would tell you that as well. Good luck!

Once Nakita is healed from her surgery we're taking her in for blood work. The vet thinks she's on the smaller, skinnier side. She's 6 months today and she is 3.1 pounds.

From what I've seen, she has grown quite a bit since we picked her up in October. And Russian Blue's are smaller cats when they are young. But just to be on the safe side we're getting the tests done.

As Hissy said, take her to a vet. There could be an underlying problem where feeding her extra will not work.
