I'm kinda looking for an old post, someone posted a while back about some dog forums and asked for links. Cant find post, so can someone link me it please or links for some good dog forums.
Also is there a search facility here? as it seems I get links back to previous posts alot and I cant find them and I hate to be starting new threads for something already done.

Anyways in case any dog knowers here, wanted forum as our German Shepherd 7 year old has recently been wheezing. Well its weird because its not a cough or sneeze but its like shes wretching and gonna be sick but we know shes isnt cos shes doesnt put her head down and start heading for back door. It lasts about a minute , she started about a year ago but was only once or twice during summer so figured she was too hot. But in past month shes done it about 4 times now, once after a bath. Could she be having breathing problems or possibly just an allergy?

It sounds to me like it could be allergies, but I would take him to the vet just to make sure.

Please keep us posted on how she is doing.

I can't help with your wheezing dog, but my favorite dog forum is dogforum.org. It is small, and there is absolutely no rudeness or flaming ever.
There are also some knowledgable people.

www.chazhound.com/forums . . . very active, good advice, friendly forum
I love it there!

It could be several things... and its hard to say for sure... Could be allergies, kennel cough, reverse sneeze syndrome... I can't say I know for sure . . .
Please keep us updated on your pup. I also have a German Shepherd, awesome dogs!

I am a big fan of Chaz too, but I wouldn't exactly call it friendly...lol...not until you've been there for a while at least or if you know how not to get yelled at!

I like Chaz too, but I do agree with you about the atmosphere over there. It can get kind of intense...sometimes downright hostile. However, there are lots of really educated members, and they're willing to help with anything, so it's worth checking out!

went with this one in the end :
http://www.prodoggroomingsupplies.com/dog-forums/
A member kindly pm'd it me. So many forums to check! No particular reason for choosing it other than layout seemed very similar to this forum so easy enough to use and had some very good replies to my post

Thanks all for your forums

ProDog is not bad either. They do not put up with bashing there. I enjoy posting and the mods are very down to earth.
Chaz is a little-well, you guys have already said it. If you don't have a thick skin it may not be right for you. I was one of the people who thought that the April Fool's joke that the mods played was kind of over the top.

Well I wish I could find the thread but I can't-so I will do my best to explain.

There was a post where the title was something like "Hey 2dogmom, you're an idiot" and then the post was along the lines of "2dogmom, you spend way too much money on premium dog food and you coddle your dog" etc. and I thought, why the heck is somebody flaming me, I am not even on that forum very much, and half of what they are saying isn't true. Well since I am not on very often by the time I saw it there were about 10 pages of replies. THAT was even weirder-why would anyone over there care if I got flamed?
So I read the replies and many had used the quote feature, and you saw quotes like "cinnamondog, you spend way too much money on premium dog food and you coddle your dog" ; "huskylovr, you spend way too much money on premium dog food and you coddle your dog".
Hm I thought, somebody hacked into the site so that there was a post that showed whatever username you are logged in with and makes it look like you got flamed? Yikes!
Well I was late enough in the game that I saw this thread which explained it. The mods themselves had messed with the forum script just for the giggles of watching to see how got offended. Some people thought it was hilarious and others did not. I mean it is a matter of what kind of taste and sense of humor you have. Maybe someone who knows the site better can post the thread (unless they yanked it). It was pretty cool that it inserted your username into the title and the message.

I find myself feeling sorry for the person who changed the code. Sounds like it would've taken ages for a little joke. I can see why its not to everyones taste.
