has anyone bought anything from
http://www.catsplay.com/

???

my guys need a new tree/gym whatever they are called, and i am saving up each month to get them one

i cant return things LOL so i dont want to spend all this money and end up with something thats poor quality

i dont drive so i have anything heavy shipped to my apt (and then i pray the UPS guy will be kind and bring it up to my apt on the 3rd floor)

this one is pretty expensive but its one i think my guys would like:
http://www.catsplay.com/mol_323.php3

its only 2 inches shorter than me! i think my Nell would love to be up that high,
she thinks she is the boss of me now that my old (almost 20yr old) girl has passed on

what do you think?

i know there are other places with cheaper stuff, even ebay, but i have to have something sturdy, stable and it must come with CARPET on it for my girl to scratch

(my boy will use anything but my girl has shredded her old tree and is now starting on the carpet on the floor, not good!)

The trees on that website look nice and sturdy! A lot of trees you see on websites look kind of unstable, or poorly made (and they're generally the cheaper ones), so it's worth spending a bit more and getting a good quality one. The one you're looking at looks good - they'll love scaling the sides and leaping about the beds.

I also like the look of this one:

It's a little like ours

And the girls love climbing and leaping all over it and racing up the sides, and sleeping in it. Sometimes they take a level each, sometimes they try to cram into one level together. Having something high enough to play on, as well as sleep on is great

I bought this one from catsplay.com http://www.catsplay.com/leopard_lair.php3 and it is very sturdy and very well made. 2 of my cats are 20 lbs cats so I really needed a sturdy cat tree.

I have also purchased from another place that has good sturdy trees but Im sorry I cannot think of the name. I will see if I can find it for you.

Check out felinedesign.net
and Angelical Cat (sale currently...I posted it in another thread): angelicalcat.com

pricey, but solid. we bought a small one from catsplay.com earlier on; it was decently good quality. angelical cat is very $, but high quality. we'll probably get a small condo-type tree (from felinedesign.net) as our next purchase (next year or so). the felinedesign guy will work w/ you in terms of reducing shipping costs if you order multiple things, e.g. tree/post + scratcher.

Wow I'd probably have fun with that scratcher lol. I personally haven't bought 1 from there but we do sell them at Petco, quite a few actually. I haven't had a customer return 1 yet so I could say they are probably a great product. This is the one I currently have its a little pricey too, and maybe a bit bigger than what your looking for but I've had it 3 years now and its still holding strong, Thing I love the most is that the carpet doesn't shred easy or everywhere
The other girls that have recomended scratchers I've bought a few things from the websites they suggested for the adoption cats and they are holding up pretty good too. Best of luck, hope they have a great time with it.

p.s= the also have a 100% money back guarantee and free shipping which will save for it weighing 50lbs lol.

Wow check out this one, man I wish I was a cat lol.
That's the one that I have for my cats. They love it. They dont use the hammock at all (which I would like them to) , but they love to sleep in the blue cone, and on the middle perch. I got mine from the ebay store, around $75 with shipping.

You should for surely look into stability. I have a 16lb cat who is very shy of the cat tree I have because it's a bit shaky. Even for my 6lb momma kitty, but she braves it to sit up in the window.

This is the tree I currently have, and my kittens just love to spastically climb it! The two "perches" are wobbly because it's an assembly piece. I've honestly tightened them as much as I can and still can't get them from wobbling. I may just make wooden braces for them.

If you are looking into Armakat, which is the maker of the tree I have you may want to check out Ebay, because they have a lot of auctions. But if you do look into them, please look for a sound and sturdy structure! Or one that you may be able to add a few more screws into.

I don't really recommend them, unless you can find a really sturdy tree, only because of the alterations I have to make, I just wanted to inform you of my cat furniture experience! =^.^=

Hi. I was just wondering about something. How exactly can you determine the sturdiness of a cat tree online?
I am looking to get one, but sturdiness is definitely a priority. We used to have a floor to ceiling model that we bought at Wal-Mart for our last cat. Had it not been to the ceiling, it wouldn't have been the most sturdy, because of it's height. Since it reached to the ceiling and had the anchor at the top, it was great and she loved it. It lasted a few years, but we only paid $30 for it, so I wasn't complaining. It was worth it. I want a good one for Reyah and the Cat Tree Store has some great prices from what I'm seeing. I just don't know how to judge on how well-made something is. I can go to my local Petsmart and buy one, but I don't have a way to haul it home, plus their prices are really high. The cheapest price I saw on a small cat tree (about 3.5' - 4' tall), that didn't have much to offer, at this store was around $130.00. Sorry to bust in on your thread. I just had to ask, since I saw that mentioned.
Thanks!

I think the cat furniture you see right here on The Cat Site should always be considered first since they sponsor the cat site we all like best.

Uh oh. Now, I'm a little embarrassed to admit that I completely missed the cat shop link at the top.
I see that Armarkat (linked from here) has some really nice looking ones.
