hey, i just got a new kitten yesterday. She is 10 weeks old. I put her first flea treatment on the back of her neck today. She seems to be able to lick it and then acts like she has a bad taste in her mouth. Should I be worried if she licked some of it?

I'm really hoping you got the treatment from a vet, especially for a kitten so young.

The solution should go on her neck at the base of the skull so there should be no way she could lick there. I can't imagine how she would reach it.

To be on the safe side, I would call your vet and ask if she ingested any if it would do any harm to her. We did Bijou and Mika last night just before bedtime so we separate them until morning when the solution has dried so they don't lick each other.

Great. I'm so glad you contacted the vet. She'll probably be alright but being vigilant and watching her behaviour over the next little while is the right thing to do.

Oh, and congratulations on your new baby.
