Last night I didn't turn the light on before taking Tal out so I didn't notice Midnight there at the door. Between it being dark, Midnight is black and Tal's size Midnight got lost in the crowd. Well, she got out and I followed her around the corner of the house. She stopped dead in her tracks and let me pick her up and bring her back into the house. I guess she decided she didn't want to be away from her family after all..

I remember that feeling! Please don't run away, please let me catch you! It's when they get past the fear and to the curiosity point that sucks! Then they try harder to get out and sometimes taunt you while you try to catch them!

lol...Maybe that is what she was doing! Usually I put her in the bathroom when I take Tal out but I thought she was underneath the kitchen table!

Note to Self: Be more careful when walking out the door!

Cats are to smart for their own good sometimes! If they are intentionally kept from something or place, it is all the more important to find out why
! The trick is to trick them into not realizing what you are keeping them from!

Thank god she froze! Frankie does the same thing on the very rare occaasion she gets out. Last time was a few years ago when I was living in an upstairs apartment where the stairs were outside. She hit the second step down, panicked and bolted back inside!

I live in the city so them getting out is my biggest fear. It has happened but I caught them. I truely have nightmares about it. Our 4 cats have there own room so all I have to have all of ours put away in there room before the door gets opened. All but Magick who wouldn't go outside for anything unless he has his harness on and his daddy (my husband) with him.
I am glad you got your kitty back inside safe.

I hear ya...from now on unless Midnight is in the other room, I will put her in the bathroom when I need to go out. she seems to be adjusting well to the indoors and I think once I move she will be even happier...
