I have 4 kittens with lice. Lots of them! I have Frontline Plus which kills lice but techinically they are too young for it. I thought about putting just a drop on them but I don't know that it is a good idea. If not, how can I get rid of those little buggers?

I didn't see anything specifically about treating kittens under 8 weeks old...

I see I can use pyrethrin based shampoo for kittens. That seems to be the easiest way. I was just going to use Dawn Anti-Bacterial dish soap like I usually use.

If they are under eight weeks, I wouldn't put any type of flea control on them. I always used a lice and nit comb (bought from the local drug store) and just combed them, then dip the comb into a Dawn/water solution. That comb works extremely well...even with adult cats!

Ya, Dawn always seems to solve the problems! I will pick up a lice comb tomorrow. I have flea combs but I am guessing lice combs are a little different?

I just went and bought a lice coms, there were two in the package, the big one is just a flea comb, but the little one is nice and it has a very small magnifying glass on the top and a little brush. It didn't seem to work well though but I did run over the kitten with the lice. I bathed them all in anti-bacterial Dawn. So hopefully they will be gone soon. I will comb again in the morning.

I think the link said if you bath them and then let the lather sit on them for like 10 or 15 minutes (wrapped in a towel to keep warm?) that it will kill whatever is on there, and then the comb removes the eggs. I don't recall what kind of soap they said though.. but was thinking it was just something normal like dish soap or shampoo. Hope everything goes well!
