I REALLY like the litter my hubby picked up from Costco. It comes in a green container, not really dusty and doesn't have a perfumy smell, more of a natural, garden type smell (I think it says it has lemongrass in it). And it is only about $7.00 for 40 pounds

I've been using PaPurr, recycled paper litter... It has a scent, which is listed on the bag, but it's not noticeable. It's flushable too or if you don't like that, it's environmentally friendly because of the paper.

For what it's worth, I use Feline Pine and love it. It disintegrates into sawdust when wet. I use the 2 part litter tray so that to clean it I just shake the box to get the sawdust to fall to the lower level and to uncover the solid stuff. Then scoop up the solid and flush. Urine odor is eliminated, absolutlely no dust and all that gets tracked is a few easily swept up pellets. It's reasonably priced considering a 20 lb bag lasts 4 weeks with 3 cats. According to the bag instructions I could get longer use out of it cuz they say you don't ever have to dump the unused but I dump it after 4 weeks.

Some say their cats don't like it but my 3 have no problem with it.

i use a mix of Tidy Cats Small Spaces and Arm&Hammer Multi cat. i have a small house, and i cant stand a litterbox smell for people that visit.

the mix works great!!! i buy a 20lb box of each every 3 weeks or so, and mix it into a huge dog food container with a top. Then, i use the tidy cats container. I put a vanilla scented garbage bag in it, and use it for the scooped litter. then when full, just take the bag outside and put a new bag in. saves on smell!

I use the silica litter and love it. the beads absorb liquid, so I just scoop out the poo and flush it. I was concerned that my little guys wouldn't like it, as they used regular litter at the place I got him, but he didn't have any problems adjusting.

I have just started using Arm and Hammer High Performance, which is new. It is a clay free litter - all natural and reminds me a bit od Swheat litter, but I like the fragrance better. I have mixed it with a bit of the clay A&H so the cats will get used to it, which they have done quite well!

The deal breaker was the fact that Beandip was allergic to the feed. So I ditched that and went with the Sam's Club clumping clay. It's $8 something for 35lbs, clumps hard as a rock and is super soft, not so chunky like the clumping Tidy Cat is now. The clumping tidy cat has those little round granules that track EVERYWHERE. The Sam's litter doesn't track that bad and isn't so dusty.
Is that the Member's Mark Litter Clean? I just went to Sam's website, and found that. I was looking for something a little cheaper than the Tidy Cat we use now.

Yes, that's the stuff. The first 4 buckets were very fine. The 5th one isn't quite as fine, but it works just as well. For the price, I can deal with a little inconsistency. It's still not tracking, and I love that!

I'm the same exact way! I scoop RIGHT AWAY after I see Puma use the litter box. A huge pail only lasted me a month. I change her litter every week and scoop regularly.

I use the "Nature's Miracle" brand of cat litter, I believe it's fairly new. Prior to that, we used Arm & Hammer, Fresh Step, or Tidy Cat's...which ever was on sale. I've found however, that the "litterbox scent" is greatly reduced with the Nature's Miracle. We had a noticable scent with all the other brands.

The only downside to the Nature's Miracle brand is that it's expensive, and it doesn't clump urine all that great. It clumps at first, but the clumps fall apart when you pick them up.

I use a 50/50 mixture of World's Best and Nature's Miracle. I just love the scent of the NM, but I had the same problem with it not clumping quite as well as I would have liked. The mixture takes care of that problem.
(I'm thinking I'll look into the chicken feed instead of WBCL when this bag runs out, to save some $.. but I don't know if I can give up the NM! Maybe I'll just mix in a bit less..)

In my own world, its much nicer there
We have the most awesome cat toilets, here in Japan. I don't know if you guys get them. The tray comes in 2 parts, the 1st part where you put the litter has perforations and under it is another tray that you put a special pad in, which goes under the main tray. The idea works like this, the litter is a specially designed filtering litter, so when your cat has a pee, it gets filtered through the litter and goes into the drip tray, which had an absorbent pad. There is absolutely NO smell, Even when they have a big poo, no smell. The litter does not clump so when you use the pooper scooper, it falls through nicely so all you removing is the poo. Thus saving you quite a bit.

You should check and see if you can get that type where you are. Our is called a DEO TOILET.

That sounds really interesting. I have seen litter pans that allow you to lift the tray up - the clean litter falls through, but the clumped pieces don't - but this sounds different. How often do you change the "pad"? I would think that would get a urine smell pretty quickly! Hmmmm...I will look around.
