ladies and gentlemen - I am delighted, thrilled, over the moon and generally every other thing to announce that Jacob and Nishka have arrived at their new home safe and well.
They are both hiding under my recliner chair at the moment, however, I have been able to reach them both and stroke and tickle chins and talk gently to them. Nishka seemed to recognise my voice more and took some gingerly steps forward and then shot back for cover.
Their history is rather poor unfortunately. The owner who died - did so under suspicious circumstances and there were a lot of police etc in the house. The house was a hell of a mess and because of everything that was happening, they found a way under the floor boards and were there until found by the RSPCA. its clear both have been traumatised and you can see the distrust in their eyes.
However, I guarantee 1000 per cent that this will change. They have all the time in the world to come out of their hidy hole. Unconditional love is abound, the house and toys are ready, food is down and we are a quiet couple so they have no worries. They will come out when ready and when they do, then they will make the moves in their own time.
Who do you trust as a cat having been through what they have. It takes time.
We will leave them be this evening and no doubt their exploring will begin later at night when the house sleeps.
Thanks for all the good wishes and those paw things and flowers.
I remain, content again with 8 paws in the house and two cats that were not wanted - very very wanted with me and my partner.
