Skye and her kittens were spayed/neutered friday and the vet said to kep her away from the kittens for 2 days. So I did. Yesterday I let her out when the kittens were out playing and she ran to them right away started giving them baths and they started nursing! I know for a fact she hasnt had any milk at all since she was spayed. Her nipples have gone down in size and I never feel milk in them. Is that ok for the kittens to do? Skye doesnt seem to mind at all but it just seems odd that they would nurse when she doesnt even have milk!

Nah, she'll be fine as long as the queen is okay with it. Like Bnwalker said, it's a comfort thing.

Thats what my Mother cat did after she was spayed too and she continued to let them for a long long time. Even now 4 years later she will occasionally let one of them.

anne was spayed when the kittens were 7 weeks old , her milk dried up about 2 weeks ago , and even now in their new home candy will still nurse from her, and stripes who stayed here trys to nurse from one of our cats, its a comfort thing , nothing to worry about , just keep an eye on her nipples to make sure there not getting to sore.
