Far far away!
Sometimes Wesley is as happy as can be getting some pets and all of a sudden will pounce on one of us with his claws out with his ears back. Is he playing or just doesn't like the way he was being pet or something? He is an indoor/outdoor cat. Do you think being outside would change the way he acts? It seems like when he was just an indoor cat he would do stuff like that too and when he started going outside it seemed to help him calm down more. So I dunno. Maybe it is nothing to worry about!

Looks like Wesley wants to limit the petting session or he may like it so much that he gets quite excited. You may want to shorten the petting session and discourage the pouncing by firmly saying NO and hissing.

My sisters cats used to be indoor/outdoor and one boy, Sebastian would growl/hiss all of the time when inside - he was only quiet when sleeping. He'd never fight the other cats but would chase them away. He would never play with toys.

Now the cats are indoor only, the change in Sebastian is amazing he runs around like a little kitten (he's 4) plays happily with the other cats and never hisses. He loves joining in my play sessions with Demetri, he loves sharing in the feather teasers.
