I have two cats one of which I just got two days ago. Well my first Brian I got about 5 weeks ago. He is about 10 months old the vet said. We just got him fixed about 2 weeks ago. He is a sweet cat! So we decided to get another cat for him for company. Smokey is about 7 years old declawed and fixed. Well any way last night Brian seemed to be picking on Smokey. Well when I woke up this morning it smelled like feet in my room. I sooned to realize one of them had peed in the cat bed. Brian never did any thing like that and supposibly neither did Smokey. Is this going to be a continuious thing? Or is it a scared thing? I dont know who did it but I really cant take pee in my house. I have a 16 month old daughter and dont want that. What should I do?

After only two days, I would not assume this will be a continuous action. I would give it a little more time before assuming anything. When we brought Alley into our house, she did similar things that kept me awake at night with worry but after a few days, she started using Persi's litter box and there has never been a problem since. I would guess it was Smokey and you can help by showing Smokey the litter box several times a day. That is what I did and Alley learned quickly. I would not be worried after just two days. In my experience, cats just need some adjustment time.

Hello and I can certainly sympathise with your worries
But its very, very early days and you are trying to integrate two cats together which can bring up all sorts of issues - but don't worry theres lots of things you can do and I am sure there be lots of tips and advice from other member too

Have a look at this link its from the Cat Behaviour Forums and gives some great pointers about introductions cats to each other

This is another link about cats spraying urine to mark the territory, so I'm sure you'll find some more help there too

I agree it will be and should be only a temporary thing if you deal with it quickly.

Keep us posted and I hope your new cats settles in soon
