back home in VA!
Today Zoey pulled her drain out and I took her to the emergency vet.
They flushed it out real well, and told me to keep a warm compress
on it for 15 minutes 2-3 times a day as well as cleaning it out with
ivory soap 2-3 times a day...here is what she looks like now

The vet told me there was no need to put stiches in it...just to leave
it open give her her medicine as prescribed and she would heal...
Other then this she seems to be doing very well she is very
playful and learning her house training fast!!!

Sometimes it's best not to close up a wound...the last thing you'd want is to suture in an infection!

Keep an eye out for any pus or yucky drainage (should be mostly clear & watery). If not on Rx, ask about antibiotics (by mouth). And just keep the area clean; rinsing the area with lots of clear water is good.

Poor Zoey
Here's to her healing up nice & quick!!

Oh my goodness!!! Poor baby! It will take a little longer for it to heal, but she will and she'll be fine.
I had a surgical site that came back open on my tummy after the stiches were taken out. It was disgusting! It was deep and pretty wide, but the doctors were right, it closed right back up all on it's own. It's not very safe to ever stich something back up not only for the infection reason but the skin is much weaker and the stiches might pull through the skin.
Have faith in your kitty, I bet you won't hardly notice that ever happened to her in a few months!!!
