Hi,

My name is Jennifer and family and I just adopted a pregnant female cat. She used to live on my mom's farm and is suspected of not taking care of her litters. I'm not sure I believe that, but I want to be prepared just in case. I have no idea how far along she is. We took her to the vet last Tuesday and the vet said it would be very difficult to determine her due date from a physical exam, but he guessed she would deliver in two weeks so if he's correct she's got a little over a week left to go.

Her name is Ginger and she's still a baby herself. She weighed a little over 8lbs at the vets. She's eating and drinking well and getting plenty of sleep. She goes back and forth between being lovable and cranky. She's obviously very uncomfortable. The movements of the kittens are still like little thumps. Occasionally I can feel a foot press against my finger.

I would pick up some KMR and have that on hand incase you need to bottle feeding them. I took in a pregnant stray as well not too long ago. She's due in a few weeks and I since I don't know her history, I went out and picked up a few cans just in case. Its better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it right?
I've heard that some animals just arn't good parents and won't look after their young, so that could very well be the case with this little one. If is, you are going to have alot of work cut out for you soon.
Good luck!
