My closest friend and I both have Dysons and after our first house cleaning we both said we wanted to bathe with brillo because we just felt nasty about living in such a gross house for so long.

Do you have that feeling too?

Nuh uh...might give me away!
DH and I weren't living in this home long before we got our Dyson (late October, 2006), but the carpeting was BRAND NEW when we did move in (I moved in last August). Well, here we are and it's June and the carpet still looks brand new.

I had a little dirt devil I paid nearly $200 for years ago when I got my first apartment, and I thought it was great until we got the dyson. We donated the DD to GoodWill.

I told you that you were going to be amazed at how much it picked up!! I didn't describe it so as to not gross you out...I wouldn't trade mine for the world, and I have wood and tile floors throughout the house, no carpet...and it still is amazing..

I have fallen into the Dyson trap! The pictures confirmed what I wanted to see. I went out and bought the Dyson DC15. OMG I cannot believe how much easier it is to take out the cat hair from the carpet!

I would love to buy one of those when i get some extra money set aside. It really is an investment the way i look at it- i have asthma/allergies and furbabies lol...so if it helps keep our home clean better then it would be worth it. We have a Dyson Animal at our shelter where i work and man that thing is great!

The Simplicity does most of the carpet in the house.

But after seeing your challenge pics, can everyone send vibes my way that the Simplicity breaks once and for all? I want a Dyson animal vac and I can't justify a 4th vac!!!

Start a chant please: Break Simplicity Break!! Break Simplicity Break!!

Congratulations on your splurge!!
If you hit it with a hammer it will break!!

I am working on hubby to get a Dyson - as he is the vaccuumer in the family you would think he would be all gungho, but the Scottish in him is protesting the cost!

Put it this way: You can expect to get a minimum of 10 years out of the vac. If you pay $500 for it, it will only cost you $50 a year for ULTRA clean rugs.

A dinner out for two costs more than $50. The Dyson is an INVESTMENT.

How's THAT for a way to rationalize the purchase.

How did I do what exactly?

I took pics, then I vacuumed, then I took another pic, then I vacuumed again and took another pic. Then I dumped the chamber and took another couple of pics.

Very simple, actually.

How did I BUY the Dyson? CHAAAAAARGE!

O-H-I-O!
I LOVE my Dyson! We don't have the Animal but the next one down and it is the most AMAZING thing!

You can actually get about 2 or 3 more cats outta that

This thread is the reason I ended up getting mine! I was lucky enough to have enough Airmiles to cash in for one. I wasn't as detailed in my challenge as GingersMom, but here is a thread showing my results:

http://www.thecatsite.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=149146

I was astounded at the amount of hair and in particular cat dander that was sucked up. I remember when I first put the turbine head to the couch cushion I thought it was going to suck up the whole cushion. I had a hard time detaching it
I've tried a lot of vacuum cleaners and used to even sell Filter Queen and Electrolux many years ago, and Filter Queen is a really good vacuum that has a great deal of suction, but it also costs about $3,000.00! Based on memory, I would have to say that the Dyson Animal has even more suction than the Filter Queen does.
