This afternoon I was snuggling Pushy then left the room only to see a trail of bright red blood all down the hallway. I freaked out calling for Wiggies thinking "OMG he's hurt himself". Well, he just came ambling out of the living room with a little "meow?". So I thought, if it's not Pushy, and it's not Wiggies, then who is leaving a trail of blood through my apartment?
Turns out it was a little sparrow.
Wiggies caught it somehow and thoughtfully left it on the carpet. I suspect it must've flown in through the balcony door which I left open a little. My feeders have been hugely popular lately and we have lots of birds hanging round the balcony. Later on, I saw some sparrows sitting on the roof looking into the living room. I wonder if they were looking for their buddy?
Wiggs was so proud of himself!

Awwww, poor little birdie! My sister's cats gets ahold of baby bunnies.
I know, I know, it's their natural instinct to hunt.

I know it's just instinct. I feel a little guilty though because I put out the bird feeders to draw them to the balcony for the cats' entertainment. Ah well, there's lots more out there today!
