I have a cat that I feed Orijen and she doesn't get hairballs, but soon I'll be taking my sister's cat who gets hairballs unless he's fed a special hairball formula. She's feeding him Wal-Mart brand stuff, though, so I'd like to switch to a high quality food like Orijen, but I don't know if that means he'll start getting hairballs again. Is there a high quality hairball formula? Is it possible to have one that's grain free? Thanks.

Is there something I can add to the food or some home remedy I could use? I really don't want to downgrade the food I feed because of hairballs.

OPPS sorry missed the fact she is moving in with you
... Try to mix her over to the origen and see , her hairball s may go away on higher end food It could just be a mis digestion issue as she is eating lots of Corn , By products and evan some colors depending on which one... if not try adding some oil ( i use olive or salmon or cod liver)... or add in a can with some grains
...

If that doesnt work you may need to adjust and buy two foods one for hairballs and the origen
