I think Cassie is sick.

It is nothing specific, she just doesn't seem right. KWIM? Earlier when I was petting her, I was petting towards her back/top of her tail and she meowed, but it was very sad sounding. Could it be that she is sad because of Sally? We have had Sally for almost three weeks now and Cassie gets along with her great. She just seems so sad. Her eating, drinking, and potty habits haven't changed. She has always been a quiet, keep to herself cat, but lately it seems worse. I do have a doctor's appointment for her. Maybe I'm just reading too much into it.

If you feel that something is not right with Cassie it's good that you have a vet appointment for her.

She may be reacting to Sally being in the home. Be sure that Cassie gets lots of individual attention so that she knows you still love her. She may be feeling unsure now that there is a second cat there.

When you were petting her by her tail did she flinch or pull away as though she was in pain? Some cats are just sensitive about being touched in that area.

Good luck and positive vibes to you and Cassie. I hope she gets a clean bill of health from the vet.

The only reaction that I got out of her was the meow. I have been trying to show her extra attention and I even bought her new special treats, but she didn't eat them.
