Hi and Welcome to TCS!

I'd keep them separate if it's just going to be a temporary living situation. If you plan on keeping the mom or any of the kittens I'd wait a little bit before introducing them.

If you are planning to keep any of the cats, follow this guide to introduce them. http://www.thecatsite.com/forums/showthread.php?t=67321

How old are the kittens? I waited until my kittens were 6 weeks old before I introduced them to my resident cat. He got along fairly well with the mother so I figured they'd be okay. They're currently running around the house, up to no good! I hear a hiss every now and then, but Shaggy's 6 years old and forgot what it's like to be a kitten.

Names and pictures please!!!

hi all
just a quick update the new mom has adjusted to my home and kids very well. she is much more comfortable. i have been exchanging scents and alternating when i let each cat out in the house. an although mom kitty is very happy with the house and us she attacks my cat when ever she is introduced. right now i am locking the mom and kittens in a bedroom and letting my cat rome the house for a while then i switch them put my cat in a room and let mom out but i can't do that for ever at some point they need to be able to co-exist does any one have any advice? the mommy cat is the aggressor is this because she thinks she is protecting her kittens? my cat just runs away or tries to anyway but mom just keeps having a fit. is there anything i haven't done that i should ? thanks
