I think, for me, that it depends on what
I've said and how
it might have offended someone. If someone was offended because we hold diametrically opposing viewpoints, then yes, I'd still probably say it again -- just because someone may or may not agree with my opinions doesn't mean I'm going to keep quiet about it (especially not in the IMO forum). However, I'd like to think that we're all intelligent and compassionate enough on TCS to understand that while we might have opposing views, that doesn't mean that we can't be friends and that we shouldn't all be entitled to holding differing opinions. (Okay, that was a bit rambling, but hopefully you get the gist of it.
However, I try not to use offensive language, so I'm already trying to be respectful of peoples' feelings and of the fact that TCS is a family-friendly site. (I do occasionally forget that certain words, while acceptable in one culture, may not necessarily be acceptable in others, however. And I really should know better ...) I like the
smiley, and I like making up swear words, so it's not much of a hardship to be self-censoring.
The mods really do do an excellent job in keeping things clean and friendly, though -- I haven't seen any examples of bad language in any of the forums.
(I'm actually a bit disappointed that I appear to have missed all the offensive posts.
